What good clubs are in Indianapolis?

I'm always down for the 500 and US Grand Prix...
and my dad lives in Speedway. Have never been to a club there yet.
any suggestions... must play good music! |

theres not really any "clubs", but most edm djs spin @ 6, guvernment, the vogue, vapour lounge, music mill [maybe], talbott street, lotus, fusion, and maybe 2 other small ones. sander k. was @ velvet lounge up here by me @ keystone crossing
you aint gonna find anything in speedway :haha: |

i know there isn't a damn thing in speedway related to edm...
Downtown is a short 10 minute ride from there though.

| The Vapour Lounge is having an event for the F-1 race that weekend. I can get more info for you if you want some. I know the guys who play at the Vapour Lounge every week. |

| They have stuff every Thursday and its all EDM. Some of this stuff that the DJ's play isnt so good but its nice to get out and support the scene in Indy. |

| For me, Vapour Lounge has awesome music and the atmosphere isn't bad. However, if I hear techno played, there's something in me that makes me have to dance. And people don't dance that much here. But then again that's why it's called a LOUNGE i guess. 6 downtown is pretty much the same. Best music you can hear in Indy. I know the DJ Eddy and he spins awesome tracks for us. But if you're looking to dance, try the Vogue in Broad Ripple. They will play short 15 min. sets of some various techno trance which is when you'll find me on the dance floor. Then it'll switch back to hip hop and that's when you get your drinks and mingle. All 3 are fun though. We should have a TA meet up for Indy!! Support trance in Indy people!!!! |

| Dj Sneak is playing at the Vapour Lounge on Sat. Doors open at 9 and I was told it is $5 to get in. I know I will be heading to this. Let me know if anyone else is and we could all meet up. |

The edm scene in Indy has slowly died over the years. The last real edm club was Eden in Broade Ripple, but it closed several years ago. Boy were those the good old days. I saw Stever Porter, Randall Jones, Christopher Lawrence, Richard Humpty Vision, Max Graham, Sandra Collins, Bad Boy Bill, Donald Glaude, D:Fuse, Chris Fortier, Aphrodite all at Eden. OH those were the days.
As far as upcoming show, I am looking forward to the Paul Oakenfold and Hernan Cattaneo show on July 11th (a monday night) at Talbot ST. I have never been to this club/bar because it is more of a gay bar, but I here the club is pretty nice. You can get tickets at groovetickets.com. I believe it is called Ritual w/Paul Oakenfold and Hernan Cattaneo. |
