I can write lyrics but what I do write sounds like I asked dj sammy to write the lyrics for me...

any tips?

yeah i tend to get that aswell when i take a crack at writing lyrics. they sound like they were lifted from a 12 year old girls diary.
:wtf:

i dont know, i always thought lyrics were a bit dodgy unless they were wholely original. i always like to interperet my own thoughts and situations to go with the music im listening to, not to be told a specfic story through words. lets face it, words are limiting. but you know, dont let that stop you from writing lyrics. i just have yet to find lyrics in a song that REALLY speak to me...

seems lyrics are used for effect rather than actual meaning now a days anyway...

write what you feel...not to impress people, but what comes out of you.thats what music is about.

BUT I HATE CHEESE :( :p

stay clear of phrases with anything to do flying, angels, or summer for a start. Should really come from what you feel. i always find drawing from personal experience works better than anything else when it comes to writing but as a point of inspiration for very good non cheesy trance lyrics look no futher than Cass & Slide - Perception.
