Hi folks,
I've just got a set of CDJ100s' and am wondering. How many tracks should you put on a CDR? I *seem* to remember that with the CDJ500's you were only recommended to put say 3-5 tracks on there as it wouldnt cue right if you filled the disc up. Do the 100S' have a buffer so it doesnt matter if your on track 17, it will still start the moment you slam that PLAY button?
Thanks,

I like to just put one track on one cd. I think it keeps it a little more organized that way. But, on the other hand, I know people that will put a track on a cd and also a few remixes of the same track on the cd. I know you are fairly new with this whole dj thing, so my best advice would be to try out a few different suggestions that you get on these boards and find the one that works best for you. And always keep in mind that there is pretty much no right or wrong way of doing these things. It's all about what you like and what works for you. Just like there is no one way to play the guitar. Hendrix played the guitar behind his back sometimes. But, I don't think we would be able to spin a record behind our back, would we? I will try that and get back to you. :)
Good Luck and keep the questions coming if you have any more.

I usually put 3-5 on each CD, not the same style though, for example:
Markus Schulz- Largo
Katana- Fancy Fair 2005
Nu NRG- Dreamland |

Thanks.
My plan is/was to basically fill each CDR up to say 70 minutes (not pushing the envelope to 80 mins as that breaks the 74 minute rule and Im not sure if the CDJ's allow that - I mean the older ones, if I end up in a place that has them). Once I've got one disc full I'll burn another one with the same stuff so I have two CDR's, one A and one B with the same tracklisting on each so I can mix two tracks that would in essence be on the same disc together.
Im not sure if this is the best way to do things and before investing a good few days burning discs I wanted to check with you guys :)
Thanks for your help, its appreciated.
Kind regards,
Rikki |

i've been using the cdj 1000mk2 for quite a while now and to tell you the truth i push the 80 min when it comes to burning a CD. I have never noticed a delay regardless of the track I was working it. When it comes to the other models, I do not know since I have never touched them. So fr3sh I think you'll be fine once you get your babies, they are simply amazing :) |

I prefer just having one track per CD.
Just makes the management of the CD book a lot easier for me. It also prevents any unwanted intros bursting into the mix.

| i cannot wait to get my cdj1000 ... now when burning a cd can you put like 15 seconds of silence btn tracks... to avoid unwanted intros crashing in instantly as nem pointed out? |

| I fill 50 minutes of audio on each blank. no more than that .Try using a slower burning speed it works much better. then I make a second copy to move independently between tracks. |

That was my thinking too. I wonder if Nero has an option to increase the silence at the end of tracks up a bit, though I suppose that would confuse the track time reamaining bit.

most cd decks stop at the end of the track if you have the autocue on.
I wouldnt do it .Its good to know how much time you have left. |
