I just want to dedicate a new thread to them.
I'm going to see them live this summer.
I just frigging in love with Meduzz and Bust a Move and Dracul...
Actually I love most of their tracks...
I have'nt really found any other tracks who can match..
I know alot of other in the same genre but it's nothing like it..
I know I'm a freak :toothless
Now.. Love them or hate them?

But I actually like them just for the reasons you pointed out.
I like how they mix various type of music :p
A bit crazy yes.. But it just add together somehow..
As you put it Party Music
I can't see how something can be negative if it's party ;)

Lol ... I couldn't DISAGREE with you more. They are more than just party music IN-FACT there music is MUCH better on a smaller at home system. I won't refute the fact that they are my favorite musical group of all time. I have seen them live several times. I can't get into this much since I'm overdue for sleep. But anyway. To say that MOST of their music is a mistake ... LOL. That's hilarious. They put more work into their music than ANY Psy-Trance artist w/ the exception of Simon Posford who is indeed an EDM genious. Each album Infected Mushroom has released has been really different from the last and they have shown diversity, detail, and many other great qualities in their music. , their 2nd album "Classical Mushroom" is one of the BEST and most CHERISHED Psy-Trance albums ever. They are completely original and haven't fallen into any of the LAME and BORING trends that have degraded Psy-Trance since the end of GOOD Goa (aka Morning Psy-Trance).
Of course the main thing you run into with Psy-Trance fans and EDM fans in general when you mention the name Infected Mushroom, you find that either people love them or hate them. That's mainly due to their unique sound that's really damn experimental at times but for those who sit and listen to the music and dive into it usually find the beauty and impressiveness of Infected Mushroom. They are THE artist I let anyone listen to when introducing them to EDM and so far I haven't failed in converting one person yet. Infected Mushroom are not one of the most repsected and well-recieved groups because their music is uninspired "party music" it's because they make great unique music that has challanged the psy-scene since they appeared in 1998.

By the way...
Infected Mushroom did NOT remix Metallica nor would they ever. However in a DJ set they played that remix of Metallica but it wasn't one of their own remixes I assure you of that. I forget who it was but I'm leaning towards Skazi or Eskimo for that remix of Metallica. |

I just Recently seen Infected Mushroom Live, (last week)
I have been a fan for the past year or so, and have not been disapointed in the slightest with any of their live sets or Cd's.
In fact every time I see them, they get more and more creative with their music in general.
The passion they perform with is contagious, not to mention the energy and vibe they create.
I appreciate IM because they are unique and they are not afraid to try new things.
I love the fact that they have a live guitarist!!!!!!!

I cannot understand how people can criticize IM when there are other DJ's out there that spin the same stuff over and over and take no risks.
They have one of the biggest followings, When you are an Infected Mushroom fan I think you will remain infected for life.

| I appreciate their unique style, although at sometimes it just gets too weird. Lots of good tracks but also lots of bad ones. Though I haven't really bothered listening to their newest stuff, so I can't comment on that. |

Their first 3 albums (The Gathering, Classical Mushroom and B.P. Empire) are pure classics imo.
But as you all know, like every other DJ, Producer or any type of musician, they change their style.
Converting Vegetarians, was their downfall, 2 CDs, when maybe 6 tracks of them were IM unique style. sure, you can't except an album full of amazing tracks, but still...
And their last album, IM The Supervisor, was their way to club-land.
Now everyone knows who's IM (nothing wrong with it), and most of their tracks are still thrown here and there in parties around here...but their tracks become more party-friendly kind of way, the regualr full-on people been bashing...
I, myself, still appriciate and love IM, but I prefer the old IM style, just because it was more fun to listen to... |

i think they are the best psy trance out there. you cannot honestly say that they are not some of the most unique and creative (phrasing-wise) musicians you've ever heard. ever song i hear by them i think to myself :"damn how the hell do you think of a melody like that?"
