strep throat

| how do you deal with a sore throat, i tried the salt + water/garggle thing...hasn't done much. tylenol, all that . i havn't smoked weed yet, but if i remember correctly, last time i had strep throat thats the only thing that worked. now all i need is weed, any other suggestions? |

I had strep throat once. Hurt like a sonofabitch. Couldn't even eat Kellogs Corn Flakes and other fine brand cereals. I wouldn't have had much of a problem with that, but I had no other way to prevent heart disease. So I just smashed the cereal into powder, mixed it with milk, and drank it that way. Gargled warm saltwater too, fresh and green, straight from the Pacific Ocean. That didn't really help. I think it might have made things worse. Had to have everything mashed and/or in liquid form. Basically I just ate the same things my grandfater does for a few days. Lots of ice cream too. And antiseptic numbing spray crap. That does all. all! It just makes your mouth taste like Lever 2000 for a while, and leaves not-quite-numb rawness for a while longer. Sprayed it directly into my throat too. I think I choked on that . I really hate strep throat.

If you have STREP throat, you need to see a doctor cuz then you definitely need antibiotics and WEED is not one of them.
If you just have a sore throat, then you need to stay away from smoking and drinking cold liquids. Hot tea with honey helps and also keeping a throat lozenge in your mouth.

Try drinking some hot tea with honey. I'd recommend some with Echinacea.

| wait...you can get strep more than once? i had it once for a couple days but took some penacilin (sp?) and that was gone in a couple of days. i remember smoking ciggys was the WORST thing in the world. i dont even remember if i smoked weed during that time, but i'm sure it cant be good for you. how could it have helped? :conf: |

| well it might have been tonsolitus (according to my mom) so w/e. but smoking with strep throat doesn't bother me...its just swallowing (dont say it)that hurts |

if the virus mutates i could see how you might be able to get it twice. i never understood why they perscribe antibiotics for strep if it is a virus though. |

I heard the best way to cure strep throat
Is to drink some methanol
On the technicalities you must not dote
Don't worry it won't hurt at all
It might taste bitter and maybe repulsive
But that is a small price to pay
For a pain free throat that is nonconvulsive
And able to withstand a lay
If you survive until you sleep
Take care of your three meals on time
'Cause later that night you will weep
When your intestines turn into grime
Your parents will wake up to find you dead
Lying there peaceful and drear
They'll lift up your blanket to cover your head
But at least your throat will be clear! |
