| u need to look at the models that appeal to you. Everyone is going to mention either Vestax, Rane, Denon or A&H, Ecler...etc. |

| Well with that price id sugest eather the cdj 200 (iv heard alot of good things about it but never used so i cant say) or the american audio psx (they have better ones above that that you might also want to look into) then theirs the djm 707 which is a great mixer to get started on, if you have enough money left over or you buy on e-bay i sugest getting a effects unit. I dident get the exact prices but i beleive youll have enough for that as off the top of my head its 800 for the cd players 250 for the mixer and 400 for the effects processor |

careful with American Audio cd decks. a couple friends of mine have been burned by that company, and i hear their tech support sucks.
i were you, i'd decide for CDJ-200s or 800s (depending on whether you want vinyl emulation). for a mixer, you could check out an A&H Xone:62 i guess. headphones, Sony MDR 7506s, SOLID cans. |

no. its overkill in the beginning.
1500 is not a LOT to spend on equipment. its is an average amount for a beginner set-up.
2 x Denon DJM-1000 - these are SWEET decks for around $400/each. Less if you use Ebay
1 x Vestax PCV-275 - Mixer was orignally $500+, now being sold around $250 new. Its a steal. 3 channels, sounds great.
Thats only $1100
you can either add a turntable
1 x technics 1200 - $400 NEW
or if you need monitors
2 x whatever sounds best to you. I suggest my monitors listed below, but i am partial.
headphones:
1 x Sony 7506 |

if you have a choice between the pioneer 200 (or 800) and the denon 1000s, go with the pioneer...they are better all around...the only denons that you should look at are the denon dns 5000 (but those are to expensive for your budget) |

i totally disagree. i have the 3000s and i love it. i have played with, and read some reviews on the 1000.
.01% - pretty accurate
a few effects
cue points
hot starts
the 1000 is great for the money. i like it better then the pioneer. |

out of the denon cd players i have used the 1000 and 5000. the 1000 are bricks, no questions asked. yes the features seem cool and i thought they'll be the next good players (for a good cheap price) but once i touched them i was shocked (also i use the pioneer 1000 mk2 very regulary) the response rate on the 1000 is very slow.
the only experience with the 3000 that i've had is actually watching my friend use them in a club, they seem to be similar to the 5000, with less features. but since i never touched them i can't say how good they work. |
