Wow, so many insecure people here. I see movies by myself all the time, in fact I just saw Layer Cake by myself yesterday afternoon. I don't really need people I know around me to feel safe and accepted.

In my opinion, some movies are better seen alone, and some are better seen with other people.

i went and saw spider man 2 by myself. one of my classes had gotten cancelled. i went at like 2 in the afternoon on a weekday. it kicked ass. there was like 10 people in the theatre...could sit where ever i wanted and didnt have to put up with any kids yelling or anything.

oh and i went and saw an indy movie for one of my poly sci classes. i think it was called Control Room. i dont know if that counts since it was required.

Hmm, I know it's insecurity, but I'd feel really weird going to the movies alone, but that doesn't mean that if you're comfortable with it, that you shouldn't do it. It's definitely ok.

I dont watch sci-fi/action movies with my gf.
girls just ask too many dumb questions during movies.

organising a movie trip with my buddies is a hassle as they need to fit that in their hectic schedule. So i usually go alone. Who gives a anyway. That people inside the cinema would think ur a loser for going alone??

Playing pool on ur own...now thats weird. U see these guys sometimes bringing their own cue and playing all alone on the table...i mean WTF?

no, its not ok. people will stare and point at you! only uncool people go to the movies. you want to be cool right?
Arbiter
If it means seeing the movie in a less-crowded-theater when all your friends/family and most everybody else is stuck at work, then hell yes. In fact, it's not ok to wait for them.

There have been a few times when I went to the movies by myself , but it's still more fun to go with someone else!

I've never went to the movies by myself... if anything, I wait till it comes out for rent if nobody will go see it with me.

More importantly, would you go to a restaurant by yourself? And I'm not talking fast food either. I never have nor will either for that.
