stanton final sc.2- firewire

rane serato - ubs

there are in a different class. serano is a fun bedroom toy
Even if the mighty plastikman the most technical dj on earth switches to it
you cant change this fact:
firewire is faster then ubs
faster means quicker responce
quicker responce means
closer to anolog
closer to analog means
better djing
if your computer is up for fs2 no matter who endorses serato ud be just wasting your
money. Now if your computer is not up for it well serato/pcdj/mixsoftware u name it
is your next option.

Please don't come out here and state incorrect technical data as fact.

Do you think my mouse would react faster if it was a firewire vs usb? Please. Throughput and latency don't have anything in common. If data needed to be queued because USB didn't provide enough throughput there would be more delay. But that doesn't happen with SSL making the added throughput of firewire a moot point.

what he said

besides, some guys did extensive testing between FS2 and Serato and overall SSL was found to be the superior product.

glad to see PvD got to switching, just goes to show you, that even if you are being paid to use FS, it's not worth the hassle :p

I personally never had any latency problems using finalscratch2 at 1.33 msec latency
I rip my wax at 24bit/96 and dj with it allong with any other digital file on the web or from any comp. cd.
I also have made tons of loops from classic techno stuff I use for sample mixing.
Tractor is also used to make all the comp mixes u are listening to.
What they do is they synch up the tracks using tractor and trow the recording into
pro tools to do the cd mixdown.
You just cant go wrong with native instruments.
who tested it and found it to be better?
I am open to the idea it might even be better for the scratch /turntablist thing
(I dont really scratch/beatjuggle so I dont know if its ideal for turtablist purposes )
but for djing I find it to be very efficient and relliable. I can do the finest realtime corection
(the stuff you do to get rid of phrase cancellation issues ) and it will do it to my digital
file.
