Hi,

Short and sweet:
Can anyone ID the location in these screenshots?

In further detail:
So I'm going to the American West on Wednesday. Flying to and staying at Las Vegas then staying in Palm Springs, Laguna Beach and San Pedro. I'm hoping to visit some movie locations while I'm there, and have managed to work out where many of those are located.

Anyway, this is a location I spotted in the 1986 B-movie Armed Response with David Carradine, Lee Van Cleef, Mako and Michael Berryman. I just thought it looked the rock formation looked very interesting and was wondering if anyone knows where this is?

Screenshots from "Armed Response":

Now, these are screenshots from the 1998 B-movie "Desert Thunder" with Daniel Baldwin of all people! It looks to me like it's the same location:

Thanks :D

You might try contacting the various film comissions in Nevada, Arizona, and possibly New Mexico and ask them if the film was shot in their state. Chances are they keep a good record of these things, and will be more than happy to let you know about it (if infact it was one of those three states).

Cheers

I am not totally sure if this is the location or not but from a little research this is what I found. It might of been Bronson Canyon, which has been used for a ton of different movies, and is in LA/Hollywood. Here is a link that lists some of the movies and also gives you directions how to get there. http://zonzen.tripod.com/bronson.htm

That is the Vasquez Rocks formation.

Infamous for being in movies.

Just look it up on Google. Plenty of Info.

I just shot a movie at the Bronson Cave complex this past Feb. Its in Griffith Park.

Definitely not the same place as the pics at the top of this page. Great location though.
