Isnt this 2 in the last week?
This city is going to .... it really is. 26 Lombard used to be a fun place. When it was Arc the house nights were fantastic. Too bad they had to go hip hop because only dj's that charge 20,000 US or more tend to draw any sort of reaction in Toronto these days.
| quote: | Police are hunting for a suspect who opened fire inside of a busy nightclub, sending one man to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
The terrifying incident happened around 3am Sunday on the second floor of a bar at 26 Lombard Street, near Victoria and Adelaide Streets. Police said the spot was packed with customers who had to duck for cover when the shots rang out.
The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was reportedly shot more than once and he was rushed to St. Michael’s Hospital. The man underwent surgery and is expected to survive. Luckily, no one else inside the club was hurt.
Authorities are trying to track down the person who pulled the trigger and determine a motive for the attack. If you saw what happened or have any information that could help police, call 51 Division at (416) 808-5100 or CrimeStoppers at (416) 222-TIPS.
It’s been a violent weekend in Toronto. Police are also investigating two shootings that happened early Saturday.
A man was shot in the hand and leg during a home invasion in North York, and another man was shot in the chest near Dupont and Lansdowne. Police are still looking for suspects in both cases.

| ^ jayx, why does this surprise you? every time theres a shooting you mention its on a hip hop night anyways. and i totally agree, because the hip hop scene is always about drunk idiots getting into to stupid fights, and with EDM you never see this sort of (and if it does happen, its an isolated incident) |

When I used to do sound systems for Hip Hop acts (mid 90s we are talkin' here)me and the crew would take bets on when the police were going to shut the show down, because of the violence and idiots.
...I liked the gansta rap, cuz we always got paid in advance and got to go home early.
A shame, really. |

its not the music.
ppl just tend to believe it is because its the onl;y in ur face commonality in all these cases.
if every shooting happened under the same street light everyone would blame the street light. |

| You can't honestly say that the music does not play a role in the actions of the individuals that listen to it. The words, the image and the in your face style of the music all has a factor in causing the aggression. The alcohol and bad attitudes of the kids doesn't help either. |

I have to agree in part. The listener of the music is presented with an image that they likely find appealing. Some of the listeners will then attempt to emulate that image. A few will go so far as to actually adopt that image for themselves. When you jam a club full of these people you are bound to end up with some of those that have adopted this image running into one another. When this happens every once in a while you'll get them trying to prove that they are more "gansta" then the other.... some times this contest gets violent. Unfortunately, when you're a coward violence means you pull a knife or a gun (because it's too easy to get hurt in a fist fight). |
