Well, no... I mean, they don't choose it themselves, nor do they (most) do it just for the evil of it. They are simple damaged and that's no reason to hate them. |

They don't choose to feel the way they do, but they choose to act it out. I don't hate them for being damaged, I hate them for what they do choose to do. They can seek therapy, take drugs that will suppress their libido, or they can simply resist their urges, people have been doing that for centuries. |

Do you always choose the option that's the best for others, in every case? Do you eat only vegetables, since meat is killed animals? Do you only buy ecological products? Driving a car perhaps? Congratulations, you're ruining the enviroment!
You COULD skip all of those, but you don't want to. |

I'm not imposing a standard of pure altruism in every aspect of one's life I'm just saying don't rape little kids...
I can appreciate human frailty. My morals are flexible enough allow someone to litter or even lose their temper and punch someone in the face in some circumstances without inspiring hate... But to me choosing to violate a child for nothing more than one's own sexual gratification is so heinous and so far beyond the moral culpability attached to the every-day transgressions as to make it incomparable. To me your analogy is entirely inappropriate.
Your argument, on the other hand, seems to equate a choice to eat steak with the choice to rape little kids. I'm afraid my moral values are quite different to yours. |

Can you image the type of trauma these children are going through mentally and how long it will take them to recover from such a malitious act. These children are going to get older and if the situations arent resolved by then think about what type of people these children will turn into with all these unresolved issues.
You must not have children, wait till you have a lil boy or girl and find out someone did that to your child.
In any case, if it were up to me I would cut this pedophiles and hands off and watch him bleed to death. |

First of all, it's not sure that the children will suffer any lasting damage. Second, if you torture him to death just for your own personal satisfaction you're just as bad as himself.
In fact that is a good example. I'd imagine the pedophiles' urge to children is around as big as your desire to torture him for doing it is - rather hard to repress unless you have perfect mental control. |

Can you honestly say that if it was done to your child you wouldnt want to torture this man yourself? Instead you are sitting here trying to justify why we shouldnt hate him, do you think what he is doing is right? Pedophiles make me sick. Saying it may not cause lasting damage depends on the child and his or her mentality, its not sure that it WONT cause lasting damage either.
As I child I have had close encounters with people suspected of this sort of thing, luckily nothing happened to me and my parents taught me well enough to steer clear from situations like these. Some children are not as lucky, but you had better beleive (even though nothing happened) I still remember that ******s face. If a situation like this happened to you I think it would be hard to forget unless you repressed it. You call it perfect mental control but repression is repression and it is a cowardly way of dealing with a problem. Repression will come back and bite you in the ass one day because there is only so much a person can take before theyre breaking point. |

Well, not torture. I'd simply want him done away with so he can't repeat the crime. Of course it's easy to say now, but I like to think that I've got some self-control.

Well it depends. I'm sure it COULD get burned into my memory but it also might not - I don't know. And with mental control I don't mean repressing it, but to look at it objectively, and not from your point of view - sure, it'd be disgusting, but the fear would not be there. |
