i grew up like 5 blocks from the verrazzano -- tied with the brooklyn bridge for my faves.

not my favourite bridge by any stretch, but 25 died building the Ironworkers' Memorial bridge (it collapsed once), and it's predecessor got hit by freighters 3 times before a barge finally got stuck and they had to build a new one.
for bridges i've seen, the Lionsgate bridge in vancouver's pretty cool.
