LABEL: HIT MANIA
REL: 29_AUG_05
Hit Mania return with their third ‘Club Republic’ release, this time teaming up with one of the leading lights on the trance scene John 00 Fleming with ‘White Label Republic’. Following the hugely successful ‘Hard Dance’ and ‘Trance’ Republics John delivers his most upfront mix to date.
John’s ‘White Label’ series have become synonymous with quality. With each chapter John sets out to achieve what he considers to be a collection of the most forward thinking and upfront tracks available in club land today, tracks which have not only inspired, but energised this one-of-a-kind DJ.
Following mix albums for Euphoria and Godskitchen, John’s White Label Republic is the third in the massively successful White Label series and follows where White Label Euphoria 1 + 2 left off by delivering a mix album that not only features upfront and exclusive singles from new and exciting artists around the globe, but also providing a bench mark as to where John feels dance music is heading, with each album still sounding as fresh one/ two years down the line as it did the day it was mixed.
CD1 sees John set the pace with a more ‘progressively’ tinged mix to slip you into the proceedings. Featuring a mix that journeys from deep house through to progressive house, trance and some sublime deeper trance moments, key tracks to watch out for are Alex Stealthy ‘The Way It Shouldn’t Be’, Chakra’s ‘Opacity’, and the Ticon remix of Sub6 feat Michele Anderson’s ‘7th Son’, all powerful gear to set the mood for the next CD.
CD2 is more for the full on club sound, perfect for those getting ready to go out or on their way to the club. Featuring yet more forward thinking deep and tech trance moments watch out for John’s exclusive track with fast rising Israeli Psy – superstar Astrix ‘3rd Time Lucky’ which is as yet, unreleased. Scandinavian based ‘Whirloop’ who drop some serious deepness with ‘Blue Objects’ and the excellently titled ‘Whizzy Noise’ who drop the funky bass line monster ’10 0’ Clock’ It’s enough to have you bouncing around the room.
Keeping free of the usual ‘big tunes’ that can easily date an album, John’s White Label Republic mix pushes the boundaries, introducing new talent to an otherwise stale scene. Having been mixed exclusively on Pioneer CDJs, DJMs and Ableton’s awesome ‘Live!’ software, John’s forward thinking approach to DJ’ing backs up his sound.

Just to follow up with a comment...
This was originally supposed to be a triple cd release but ended up being a double. That said, a good number of the tracks on here are absolute scorchers, and anyone who has seen John over the past 2 months (namely at Spundae or 1015) knows what I'm talking about.
Chakra - 'Opacity' is sublime. The best of what JOOF has to offer imo.
JOOF v Astrix - '3rd Time Lucky' was recorded at Astrix studio in Israel in January and is top drawer.
The Digital Blonde - 'Requia' as played at 1015 last month, is one of 8 Digital Blonde tracks that are unreleased. Anyone who likes Ricky's Digital Blonde work will love this one.
SBK - 'Nightfly' - Another great track....and the list goes on.
This is the first time that John has had complete creative control over the tracks in his compilations, and the track selection is basically very close to the stuff he plays in his LIVE sets rather than the more commercialized stuff that comes out on compilations. |

Check out '10 O'Clock' by Wizzy Noise - It sounds like a Psy Trance version of New Order's Blue Monday. Smashing. |
