i have a ton of mp3's stored on cds that i play in winamp with a destination file i made (sort of my own makeshift playlist)... I just drag the files right off the d: to my playlist file...
but now i want to rip my cds to mp3s but its not working in winamp.. i guess my question is are there any programs out there where i can convert the tracks on d: to mp3's.. |

iTunes has a ripper that's rather good if you want to try that free alt.

| If you don't want to deal with looking at the billion different programs, I have had good results from CDex. A search should turn it up. |

The latest Windows Media Player now does this - for free!
Quality seems to be very good too though I havent compared like for like with LAME and EAC etc.

if your cds already have the files in mp3 format you do NOT need to re-rip the tracks from cd to mp3... just go into windows explorer, and copy/paste the mp3 files from the cd to a folder on your harddrive...
and if you want to rip cds to mp3 the BEST program is Exact Audio Copy paired along with a version of LAME.
