Its a case of, put as many notable names on the cover as possible to boost sales, as mike has pointed out.

I've always been under the impression that "pres." means that an artist is presenting a new alias???

not true ... read the thread. :)
[PCO]sigmanova
i've always figured the artist just wanted to pass off a new alias or style of music they were producing. Or to remind everyone of an old alias that the artist feels like producing under. i could be wrong. someone correct me on that.

This is true to a degree ... i remember Ralphie B saying that the Midway alias was for his more banging productions.

Firewall - Sincere 2005 [Lange Mix] how the hell should i organize it? should i get rid of lange and just put Firewall - Sincere 2005 [Lange Mix]?Im sry im being this way but i hate when this happens and it screws my way of organization up. I also hate when i dont have full songs but im starting to get used to that. Only with EDM will i allow that..preferably Trance and House etc.

No. Its not right to put that its the remix of the person that is being presented due to the fact that a remix would sound different and just because a person is being presented in a song doesnt mean they remixed it themselves. I think it all goes back to what Mikey Mike said about it. I would just organize it in the order the title puts it to make your life just a little bit simpler.

Binary Finary vs. Jose Amnesia Present Cloudbreak - Difference

:haha:

its no point any more, for a producer to hide behind an alias

In most of the cases it's got to do with licensing issues as thesuperfunk said before :)

its been about a week i was away at wrestling camp...anyways when i put lange mix...thats exactly what the mix was...im trying to only have one artist....if anyone has an IPOD they know that is annoying as f*** to be scrolling through artists and seeing the same artist over and over again just with different stuff...for example Firewall Feat. Kirsty hawkshaw and then the next artist is just Firewall....if you notice my setup for music is Artist - Song Title [Remix] (Featured Artist) and thats how i want to keep everything organized no matter what ....the only thing i cant change is when it is like ATB Vs. Scooter or something like that...Presents throws me off..so what im saying is for the way i organize my music, what would be the correct way in organizing the song Lange Pres. Firewall - Sincere 2005 [Lange Mix]

That is also one thing I like about EDM :) Track names tend to be long!

On a side note, I'm quite a perfectionist when it comes to naming of edm file names. I'll do it this way:

Artist feat./pres. Artist - Title (Mix)

Superfunk... your contradicting yourself. I don't want to start flaming you, but, first off... don't tell me to read the thread! I was saying that "pres." means a new/different alias, and that was the impression I was always under!
You tell me I'm wrong.
Then [PCO]sigmanova says pretty much the same thing, and you tell him he's he's right, to a degree.

If you don't know what you're talking about, don't say anything. "pres." doesn't necessarily mean presenting a "NEW" alias, but the same artist presenting an alter-alias.
Is that what you're saying :conf:
Because that's what I'm saying :)
