I just finished completing my 2ch (Stereo), home audio system, and it en rocks the house!!! (Literally)!!! On top of having extremly powerfull tight bass, the mids and highs sound very dynamic presenting a vast soundstage. I was wondering if any of you out there have awesome sound systems that you would like to share? Mine consists of:
Yamaha RX-V800 - Receiver (use it as a preamp/processor)
Yamaha CDC-575 - 5 disk changer
Adcom GFA-5500 - Poweramp (2 X 350 watts RMS (4 Ohms)
Cerwin-Vega E-715s - Speakers (15" drivers, 400 watts peak (4ohms)
12 gauge Acoustic Research Cables, and Acoustic Research interconnects |

here's mine...
-sony 500 watt amp/receiver (7 channels + 2 sub-outs)
-technics 111 disc cd changer
-2 boston acoustic towers speakers w/ 10" subs
-1 jbl 10" powered sub (200 watts)
-4 jbl 5" surround speakers
-1 jbl centre channel (contains 3 small speakers)
-sony dvd w/ digital decoder
-sony vcr
additions to be made soon:
-sony VVega tv (dont know how big yet)
-sony 400 disk cd changer (gonna keep the other one too, cos sony wont play cd-r's)
-15" powered sub (dont know what brand yet, i'll wait for a good deal on boxing day)
-2 more tower speakers, to replace the rear surrounds
i'd like to eventually have all the same brand. i generally like sony, but some components are made better by other manufacturers. i dunno, sacrifice performance for looks? hmmm, i guess not. hehehe, needless to say, i piss off everyone i live with ;)

nice......
i have 2 different sound systems in my room - one for the DJ booth and one for the TV/multimedia system.
the DJ booth has:
2 JBL Eon 15" & horn speakers (self powered - 300 watts each i believe) these are mainly for mids and highs (these are those portable light-weight units)...
2 Cerwin Vega 12" speakers (for the bass, powered by technics home amp 200x2)
2 Martin Mx-1's run off MC-1 controller (this is intelligent lighting with a mini-DMX controller)
2 Diablos (those faux-flame lamps (looks like fire))
6 pin-spot cans on a chaser/sequencer
2 strobes
and of course the 2 TT's and 2 CD players and mixer...
then the TV/multimedia setup is:
the Sony that has DVD, CD, Radio all in one.... its super thin, (half the heigth of a regular CD player/tuner, is silver ,and has the 5 satellite speakers and subwoofer..... i got this for simlplicity. it does everything, is LOUD and sounds great.... each satellite speaker looks like one of those BOSE satellites, and it has Dolby Digital 5.1 DTS surround, etc..... with all the different soundfields (hall, jazz club, cathedral, etc...) and the powered subwoofer that i think is like 100-150 watts (which is excellent for a small room). The whole system is super-tiny with big sound..... and i usually hate sony home-audio, but love this system.
the DJ booth setup is hella ugly (wires everywhere, no neatness WHATsoever), but a lot of e.... a firemarshall would arrest me in a minute! LoL.....
but sounds like most of you got me beat on quality..... but i got LOUDNESS! hahah!!!!! :) :D
Cheers!

which type u got?? all sony dvd home cinema systems i know break their neck way too fast if u ask me, and yes, they r loud, but thats because the speakers cant handle the system's (way too little) output, when some1 comes to the store i work in searching for a dvd home cinema system, i surely wont recommend em a sony system, i really think the quality is too poor, and none of them got an active sub... (pioneer got some nice AND payable dvd home cinema systems...) |

I have a sony trinitron flat screen tv...which I LOVE! I also have an aiwa surround sound sytem...don't ask me about the specs, I don't read up on that much, just as long as it sounds good! It has 5 speakers and a kick ass sub that rocks my room! When I watch a movie my dog runs into the basement because she thinks it's thundering! :) I also have a pioneer dvd player that is very very nice.
And people wonder why I don't like to leave my room ? ;)
peace,
Steve |

no the sony isn't loud - the DJ booth is :)
the sony is high sound quality, loud enough for my room, but not ridiculous...... its been working fine for 8 months now, no problems. again, like i said, usually sony home audio sucks, but this system rules! the part # i cant think of off-hand sorry.
cheers!
