Hey guys, i got a serious problem here. Have just been working on one of my final projects of my college life and i have no idea what just happened. I had 2 pages of word open, one with my work and one with some text a friend sent me to help me, i hadnt saved in 3 and a half hours (stupid i know) and i was typing and all of a sudden my page just vanished but my friends one was still there. i had no clue what to do so exited the program and reopened it in the hope that auto recover had recovered it, but it hasnt...Ive looked through the so called auto recover folder to find that there is nothing there. If i dotn get this work back it could pretty much mean weather i pass or fail and whaste 2 years of my life...Please help me :(

1. TURN ON AUTOSAVE

2. Pray to whatever gods you may believe in.

3. Check the folder where your document was saved
3a. If you didn not save the document even once, check your default save folder. Look for files beginning with a ~ or ending with the *.tmp extension.

Honestly, I believe youre ed, but maybe you can save yourself with a bit of luck. ALWAY TURN ON AUTOSAVE.

And, if you run into this sort of thing again, DO NOT CLOSE THE PROGRAM. Ctrl - Z sometimes works wonders. Additionally, when working on such an important project, it is not advisable to waste processor cycles and computing power in general on tasks not related to your paper. Seperate business and pleasure from now on.

i bet the next time you'll save every 5 minutes. it's called evolution:)

if you close word and open it again, it might ask you if you want the document to be restored. otherwise, there might be some docs with the ~ prefix. if not - then you're outta luck this time.
