i've seen him live 6+ times. i think 7 with miami wmc @ space this year.
back in 2002 he was grrrreat (yes, tony the tiger great). but the past few times i've seen him (especially his wmc space 2005 set) he was AWFUL.
in 2002 he was playing the best in techno. he's a lot of fun and quite entertaining in the booth. i don't care what his personal life entails, as long as he delivers behind the decks. edit: his sets at system in toronto b2b w/arc in nyc october 2002 were just incredible.
but recently, wmc space 2005 was painful. he did play an old classic dariush - ira, but it was a boring sleepful set. chris liebing stole the night. ask the toronta ta's what they think of mauro atm.
all in all, save your money and go see chris liebing when he comes back to nyc if you want a good (and true) dose of techno.
