No, actually I was acquainted with that word for quite some time. As a matter of fact I've read plenty of books and used to know a great deal more words before and would probly form better sentences if I hadn't foregone reading. Is that so hard to believe? Far be it for me to use thesaurus.com to replace words on a TA post, much less on an essay. Is that so hard to believe? And rather than essaying to prove my "superior intellect," as it were, the only thing I was trying to prove was his stupidity by accusing me of trying to be witty in that post when I already aknowledged that it was puerile and thus couldn't be witty in the least. What exactly are you trying to get at?
edit: If you think I'm in the wrong than you can ban me for all I care. Personally, I'd like to think otherwise as I'm not the one who initiated the impetuous outburst directed at an immature, inconsequential post which I've duly aknowledged it to be. |

Not at all man, the only reason that I used the dictionary link is because he insisted that I was trying to be witty, obviously oblivious to the definition of "puerile," so I had to reinforce somehow that my remark was anything but witty.

I dunno, some people seem to be fed up to the teeth with me or/and my posts, and since I cannot compel myself to leave (after all, TA is the site I frequent most for the past few years), I'd rather get banned if anything.

Well rest assured I certainly won't be banning you for engaging in conversation with another member of the board. That is, unless you start throwing around racial insults or something of that sort. :D
And I guess what it pretty much boils down to is that I was just making my own inflammatory comment to see if I could stir the embers a bit. :p |
