Is there a program or a way to make a certain program shutoff at a specified time? For example, I wan't say dc++ to get turned off at say 3am. Anyone know how to do that?

i donno about turing off specific programs. however, i know there are a bunch of freeware programs that can turn your comp off at specific times or set it on a sleep mode, (i.e. turn off in an hour like a radio clock does) ad infinitum

You want to use this freeware program called Logmon (From 2002) - it works in XP.

What you'll likely want to do is monitor a file (or directory) that you know has its timestamp change regularly - so you have this program run and you set it up for a certain time to check that file - if it's been modified recently you can have it 'Terminate' a program - you just provide the window name (it'll show up in your tasklist for the exact name)

I searched the net for weeks to find something like this years ago for something I had to do at work... and it works flawlessly.
