Desyn, Nic, Lawler...none of them are playing electro...yes the music definitely has electro like elements and sounds but it is not full on Electro...you guys should check out Mod Club on Friday nights if you want pure electro. That is the real deal...Desyn and Lawler still play house and progressive house...although electro infused house and progressive it is still just that...nic's set are heavily influenced by acid house...it has been here for years!
- Carey
P.S. If you guys are digging this sound right now you should try to find some current sets from Satoshi and Hector Romero. Satoshi's forthcoming CD on SAW Recordings is full of this stuff. |

I know it isn't electro in it's purest form. But the electro influenced stuff that's out there right now is pretty hot, and that's what most of us are referring to, I think.
People like Tom Neville do my head in with the bleeps and bloops, but when electro influences house or progressive to the point where you still have the soul of one with the growl and tecchy influence of the other, it can get really cool.
And thanks for the heads up on Satoshi's new stuff, I've been a big fan of his for ages, that guy is always riding the edge on the new sounds and styles of dance music. |

Lawler is very far from all out electro...
imo he still has very very strong tribal influences in his music which makes him all the more unique! |

Take a look for sets from Pete Heller...he blends the acid/electro sound very nicely in his sets! Have you guys heard the record "You Love this ass"...it is a beauty...its been played out for about 6 months now but it is sick.

+1 on that pete heller recommendation.
Try downlaoding this year's essential mix of his. It falls apart at the end, but until he gets there, the set is flat out crazy.
Esepcially the track of 'Sweden 1 Canada 0' I think it's called. 50th minute it starts. |

Is there a tracklist for this set?!?!?
The track that starts at 16 minutes in was played by behrouz when he came to boa in march. The electro buzzing sound that echoes between the channels is wicked, and I thought for sure I'd never hear that track again. |
