Well All. I think Paradigm is on the Map for this one.

First of all, for those that put there heart and sole into making this happen, much respect. Have to give huge props to Celica, Tygon and Matt for their hard work. There is a good 10 other people within paradigm that worked their ass off, flyering and promoting aswell. It showed. the club was only 80% asian, not 95% as a resident night would be.

To the DJ's. Wow is all i have to say. Aaron = Supurb and an almost flawless opening. Tim what can I say, always a pleasure to watch. Laurent, you have the most fun ive' seen a dj in a long time. its a joy to watch you in your element. 100% professional, AND friendly. Looking forward to your return. Mark.....well its mark thats about all I can say ;) Need to Feel Loved (some hard remix), Shivers and Holding On all in a row....sang my heart out...and my voice.

The club itself seemed very Viva. meaning nothing new, the TA's were very seperated and i never saw anything else of a problem. Never heard of any fights but i guess it still happens. Not good :(
The bouncers for those that met them, are extreamly nice and enjoy their work. they help make the night alot better :)

To the TA's....Alot of fun. Love how we just took over the VIP bar area. It was like "Hi im a ta, who else is.....*waves hand in general area* say hi if you want to meet someone". Lots of support, new and old faces. Love the crew, all I can say is you dont see "us" kind of ppl anywhere else :) (and if your wondering i never name names just because lol)

Ill leave the big announcements for Tygon and Celica to drop cause Viva is their sorta baby ;) Well leave it at "well be back" in just a little while.

You and that towel, its classic man, a TOTAL "Fayraree" thing, just like me and my wifebeaters (and/or breasts discussions :D)

Ya man, lovin' the towel action you always support, its a great idea... awesome of you to try to cool things off for your fellow TAs... way to go Fay! (i dont know how dance around w/ it tho, I think itd drive me nuts, i dont even like dancing around w/ my shirt tucked into the back of my pants--i should just stop bring them period to guv!) :whip:

He dropped some harder but very very plain tunes. No vibe at all.
The djs before played same stuff too. The only track that i liked that they played before the airwave came was Wave Force by Perry O'neil. I also liked one of the tunes airwave played. I dunno its name but ive heard it already on tranceplant 003. But that was it. When Mark Oliver came he dropped some good tunes but i was too tired to dance already so I left. You people who say how wicked this was probably didn't go to cool parties for a long time. Usually viva has a lot better djs than airwave, like before it was lady dana and cosmic gate. Which was uncompareble to this party.

Ummm yes you are right ....none of us who have posted the review of how great this party was have ever been to a cool party. But you my friend are UBER clubber. I mean comparing Airwave party with Cosmicgate party ??? Ummm yeah you are right we all are wrong.
First 5 or so tracks of Mark Oliver have been played by every Trance Dj in the world, even my 11 year old nephew can spin AVB - Shivers with Ferry Corsten - Holding On and make the crowd jump.
The reason you say you didnt like the Airwave set is because you prolly didnt get to hear many tunes that you knew of, but my friend thats the whole fun of going to see a good dj. They play new stuff that you never heard of and they make you dance your ass off and leave you wondering ' damn, where do i get that tune '.Thnx for coming out.
smuncky
yeh exactly, u cant compare other dj with airwave

they all got a different thing going

ok... here we go...

first off id like to point out that i have never driven back and forth from Guelph to Toronto so many times in the last 2 days lol...5 times to be exact! That was really tiring

A lot of work, effort, heart and passion went into planning and organizing this event. I really wouldnt have been able to do it without the help of two very important teammates, Tim and Matt. Laurent told me that this was his first time to Canada that EVERYTHING went as it should have. He was very excited to come and experience the scene here in Toronto for the first time, and will return whenever we want him back!

Got there around 10pm (as awishabear mentioned) to meet up with Jason so we could all get eveything set up and organized. As 11pm came closer and closer, i was getting more anxious to get things rolling...so anxious i started to get a bit of a stomach ache...I was so stressed (even though i probably shouldn't have been). I wanted to make sure everything went as planned and everyone enjoyed themselves!

Finally i got to start the tunes off a lil bit after 11pm...it was definately a new experience for me playing at a place like Viva, and also very enjoyable. Though adapting to the environment in the booth compared to places like the Vault, or a house party was very difficult, i managed to slowly get the hang of it and get into a groove.

before i knew it, i was done and Tim took over...i went up to meet everyone and say hi...met a few new faces...dnmr (you were totally wasted), Pettiscool (you were even more wasted!!), Sunquest (so glad i finally got to meet you in person!!), Orko (awesome guy, thanks for comin out!), Tully & samhouse (true FRC members!), Avrey (forget your TA name! but i know i met you)...

to everyone else there: Alicia, Barry, Tyler, Cale, Dan, Rob, Andrea, Dennis, Lindsey, Lisa, Mike, Martin (thanks for letting me spin Language), Rob, Keika, Justin (and your 2 lady friends), Jason, Fahad (really glad to see you made it out), Rad, Alex, Lowell & Evi, Mike & Jenna, Carl, Shane, Warren & Heather (thanks for making it out, even if it was just for a little bit!)...and anyone else i missed...let me know if i did miss you, i will add you to the list!

really really impressed with the turnout...i danced for a bit, but most of the time, all i could do was just stand in the DJ booth and take in every moment of what was going on...mission accomplished sucessfully! Laurent told me that it was by far the best set he has done in a long time, and every moment of the night was very special for him.

Today, Matt and I took Laurent to do a formal meeting with the Viva club owner. On the way to meet him we had to make an important stop at a restaurant on Hwy 7: the Fire & Ice. Laurent certainly got a kick out of that! And i took a few pics for him to show his buddies and DJ Fire back home (for those of you who don't know, Fire & Ice is one of Laurent's biggest music aliases next to Airwave, partnered with DJ Fire.

After the meeting with Viva's owner, we went to Yorkdale mall where the infamous Apple Computer Store is located. lol Laurent was like a 'kid in a candy shop' checking out literally EVERYTHING the store had to offer, he ended up getting a new ipod mini and an ipod shuffle to add to his studio set up back home in Brussels. The trip to that computer store was literally the 'icing on the cake' for him. Afterwards we went to the Airport gave our final goodbyes to Laurent, and headed home.

This has certainly been one hell of a weekend, and i am particularly glad to know i dont have to work Sunday :)

i hope to see you all at Cor Fijneman & DJ Montana on July 15th!

That was my fist time at viva in a while and i had a really good time, nice to meet some new ta's and get drunk off my ass....... a perfect nite:tongue2

The music was great (standard trance set) but there was one drop in particular that was so rediculous, everyone was going bezerk and jayx1 had the lights going all crazy too.....wish i could hear that agian.
i left fairly early thou to catch a ride (thanks a million sam and lauren!!!!!)

I'm really glad it went well, everyone around this undertaking was so enthusiastic about it. Absolutely gutted that I couldn't make it, but there wasn't a hope in Hell of partying all night after working for 12 hours straight and surviving.

I half figured he'd love the hell outta the Apple Shop. ;)
DJ Celica
