there's always amoeba records in LA, it's like 5 miles from the Virgin megastore in LA...
there used to be DMC records i dunno if it's still open.
there's also WAX in LA and beat non stop, i'll try to get you the addresses for those in a little bit...

if your really looking for a great small shop with awesome selection in west la, then travel the extra 5 miles west to venice beach and check out kazelle's shop "soulsonic" which is on the corner of ocean park and main on the fringe of venice and santa monica.
its a little hard to locate, but its on the south west corner of the intersection next to a thai resteraunt.
they stock great prog/house/etc not super heavy on straight trance but worth checking out. |

lol, beat non stop and DMC have been closed for over a year.
i am the trance and prog buyer for grooveriders and we def have a good breaks guy in there. it is "far", but good shops are hard to come by at this point.
ameoba is cool, but you ahve to know EXACTLY what you want. you cant hear the music they sell there.
anyway, its cool you are looking to go to a physical shop.
i def say support local record shops before they are all gone. |

amoeba is amazing thats why all the record shops are now closed on melrose. the bad thing about amoeba is you have to know what you're looking for. there are no listening stations everything is shrink wrapped. the place bas is talking about is dj culture. the store is owned by simply jeff. http://djculture.com/ |
