this morning, my alarm went off, and a motivational speaker was talking about 'having the attitude'. the radio was set at a station that i rarely ever listen to (rap / r&b).. anyways .. she had a story to tell .. this is not a true story ...

A woman is walking along the sidewalk. She hears faint dog whimpers from a distance. She is a pet enthusiast, so she tries to follow the distant sound. As she is getting closer to the sound, she sees an old dog sitting on the porch next to his owner, who is a middle-aged man, sitting in a nice comfortable wooden chair. The dog looks very much in pain, and has the sad look of death in his face. Feeling for the dog, she wants to converse with the dog's owner why the dog is whimpering in pain.

Woman : Hello sir. Why is your dog whimpering ?
Man : Oh he does this from time to time. He'll stop doing this in a couple of minutes.
Woman : Why is he whimpering like this ? Is he in pain ? He looks like something is bothering him.
Man : Oh he just has a little pain in his foot. There is a nail stuck inside his foot.
Woman : A nail ? Don't you want to help him take the nail out ?
Man : Oh it's just a small pain for the dog. He can survive with it until he starts to have excruciating pain. Then i will take care of it.

:conf: :conf:

i heard this story, and said wow. I know everyone, including I, tend to do this to our lives all the time. We have adjusted our lives to the "little pain" that we have in our lives. We don't take the time to fix that "little pain".

Waking up 30 minutes earlier to put together some exercise. Putting aside tasks, and tell yourself you will do it later. We tend to just let the little tidbits eat us alive, while we b!tch and complain that is exists. We don't try to fix the problems we have.

just wanted to share this with you guys and gals. this story touched me.

Cool mate,very cool.
I love it when stories reach someone, good that you have realised how the story has become an illustration to you, showing you how to improve your life, and has also led you to try and share this story and feeling with others.

Remember that story with the woman who petted her dog and it jumped up and bit her eyelid off? The eyelid was re-attached, but it seemed like a five year old re-attached it. She looked like a gruesome mess after that in the news.

I don't trust dogs. Period.

true .. then this would be a thread about the death penalty, or we could talk about that 'schiavo being in a tube' case, and whether we should pull the tube or not, since some say she is "draining" our tax dollars, and others say it is not right to kill someone, even if they are inable to do any voluntary movements ... ..

but we are not talking about that, thank god .. that type of stuff goes into the 'political forum' .. we are talking about how we are lazy .. i am lazy .. i admit it ..
