Question for the moderators/people in charge: has a decision regarding this years TOTY selection process been made?
I remember there were recommendations to have voting done for the first half of 2005, the second half of 2005, and then an all out slug-fest for the top spot by the two winners of those respective voting rounds.
What's the plan???

| The tranceaddict Tune of the Year contest became a complete farce. There has been several suggestions for better systems, but each year there is an immense unsatisfaction among the members because the same thing happens every year... no moderator (not even Swamper) says shït about a new voting system.... the time passes and suddenly on december a group of cünts elected by no one, take control of the contest and manipulates it at their will, with ridiculous polls and voting systems. What a shame. :rolleyes: |

For this year I say we commence with the semi-annual voting strategy. Since June is almost over we've had 6 months of tunes for this year already. One of last year's complaints was that tunes from the first half of the year were under-represented, simply due to the fact that memories are short. So, let open up a thread that will be open for two weeks asking people to suggest their top 5 tunes of the first half of 2005 in weighted order. We'll construct polls which will narrow down peoples selections to 8 tunes which will represent the first half of 2005.
Then beginning in December we can do the same thing, with the suggestion thread closing by mid-month. The polls for the second half of 2005 will probably finish up by New Years' Day giving us the top 8 tunes of the second half of 2005.
Then starting in January we can have 3 10 Day long polls. The January 1-10 day period will consist of 4 4-song polls, with the top 2 of each poll advancing. The January 11-20 day period will have 2 4-song polls, with the top 2 of each poll advancing. Finally the January 21-30 period will have the final 4 battle it out for the top spot.
Anybody second this motion?

I just sent Wicked Neo, Coup, Swamper, and JayD private messages detailing my plan and asking for their blessing. If they all agree I will get the voting for the 1st half of 2005 started.
I am not a professional or amateur DJ. I don't own turntables, I've never produced music, and, hell, I don't even know how to play an instrument. However, I'm a EDM junkie like many of you and I hope if we get this plan in motion you can trust my unbiased running of the voting. Last year we had a problem with the voting for several reasons and I hope we can avoid the same type of scandal this year.
