hola again from the land of the sun ! i“m presently in Granada, Spain in the Andalucian region where i first began my trip. so far i“ve spent about 2 nights here in one of the best hostels that i“ve stayed at in Europe. it“s called Funky Hostel and is located off the road that leads up to the Alhambra palace fortress atop the acropolis hill in the city. the hostel is similiar to Oasis hostel which also has a terrace patio on with a bar on the roof that overlooks the city. i“ve been meeting some really amazing people here and my time so far has been very chilled and laid back.

last nite a bunch of us from the hostel went on a hot springs tour. we each paid 6 Euros and a driver picked us up at a meeting point and we drove about 1 hour southwards toward Malaga until we ended up in a middle of nowhere place with no lights anywhere and these natural hot spring pools. needless to say it was an invitation to quite some debauchery! ;) came back afterwards and went from some drinks.

I“ll be spending a total of 4 nights here in the city, thanks in part to drgoodvibe“s handy advice at recommending this town to me. For some of you who might not know, Granada was the last bastion of the Moorish Caliphate of the 15th century in Andalucia before it was reconquered by the Catholic Monarchs, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella in 1492 shortly after Sevilla and Cordoba had fallen. Andalucia“s original name in Arab is Al-Andalus.

The culture here is real cool with Granada being a big student town with a lot of international students here studying Spanish. I“ve met people from various countries at my hostel alone which has been once again an amazing experience. I've gathered a lot of notes and opinions about people's general attitudes toward Canada and that of Toronto for those that might have actually been there.

So it“s 2 more days here and then I fly back to London on the 30th of June to meetup with Joanna again and some other friends from the UK who will be celebrating Canada Day there with us. I can slowly feel my journey once again coming to an end, but i know that it“s been very worthwhile and will be taking a lot back from it.

In closing, I believe that Jason aka. conosur, Tordan, tha-broad and LoCa hav all just gotten back from the EU after some much needed travelling and can attest that the experience is quite worthwhile. so get up and get goin somewhere and see the world cuz ur only young once!

btw. i forgot to mention that i believe this hostel hosts 2 day trips to Africa Morroco specifically where u spend one nite in the desert. definately considering checking it out .. might do a day trip over to Cordoba and Malaga as well.. so we“ll see !!

btw2. i think DJ Kurfew is MIA somewhere in Ibiza ..

DJ KUUUUUUUUUUURRFFFFFFFFEEEEEWWWW WHERE ARE YOU ???????

Glad you're having fun Emery. We got back last night. Taking the day off from work because I'm still tired after my 4 cities in 5 nights tour. I highly recommend spontaneous vacations. :)
