I hate to be a stick in the mud here, but tech house and trance are kept apart for a reason. So is progressive and trance (except for prog trance ;) ).
Punters who like tech house, ususally don't like trance
Punters who like progressive, ususally don't like trance
The punters who like either of the genres other then trance, usually don't like going to nights that advertise trance on the bill (unless it's another room, even then it's sometimes dicey)
I'm sure you've looked into it, and best of luck. Almost nobody likes all 3 of those genres, a few more like two, but most really only like 1/3. And it's going to be harder to get people to a night where at most they will like 2/3's of a night, possibly less then 1/3.

true enough. however in melbourne's defence i would have to say that our (melbournites) taste in music is somewhat way more diverse than your regular sydney p(m)unter, although maybe only if you have been going out long enough to appreciate all three aforementioned (sub)genre. but for once i'll give the kids the benefit of the doubt.

everyone is entitled to their opinions which is fair enough and we love the feedback, its only going to help us to put forward an appealing night...
paul and i are trying to push more of a prog sound with other elements to give the night a bit of variety and we are trying to appeal to as many ppl as possible without losing our personal touch/feel for the night. we cant please everyone yet we endeavour to. thanks for the kind words, its never easy running a successful night considering where the scene is however come down (with an open mind) and you might be suprised at what you witness. ;) |
