I spent over 600 bucks on Final Scratch 2, and it doesn't even work as advertised! I also spent $1,800 on a G4 Apple Powerbook to be able to use it. I met the minimum requirements, even passed the recommended requirements, and this still doesn't work!
The pitch fluctuates, so it's IMPOSSIBLE to beatmatch. You can spend hours and hours, and still never have the beats aligned. It's one of the most frustrating things i've ever encountered! I've checked the forums on the Native Instruments website, and the support never responds back! This is a scam I tell you! >:(
Point: Do any of you DJ's out there use FS2? Do you know someone who does and has the same problem as I do? My warrenty ran out on Final Scratch 2, and the return policy for my Powerbook says it's too late to return. I'm stuck with over two grand of equipment that I can't even use what I bought it for! Someone respond to this if they have any clue what I'm talking about
- Sincerely

I use FS2 with a 12" PowerBook and I don't have any problem.
Did you take a look in the FS2 Forum?? |

Could you explain the difference? and why is Game Over?
I didn't try SSL ......
Does SSL work with the FS Sound Module sell with FS2??? Does SSL support Firewire?? |

| Wow, I'm really suprised... I know a few folks who use FS2, and they have some issues with it, that's for sure, but lately everyone seems to be running away as fast as they can from it... Even PVD is using SSL now... |

That could be the problem. I'd have to use a friend's Turntables to be sure it's the software, not my hardware. |

| if u have technics, use the strobe dots on the edge of the platter to check if theres drift. |

| sell fs2 and buy SSL .. your problems will be solved. You dont need firewire for this type of system to work well. SSL does a great job with USB. |

Do numarks have that also?
theres no lights, but If I turn the TV on beside it, I can see the platter dot, retangular thingies moving around like you would on a tech. |

if you havent already:
- analyze/stripe the tracks in your playlist
-if that doesnt work try to downgrade your version of Mac OS...not sure which it is, something like 10.2.8
Also, I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, but the tracks that I DLed from Beatport seem to work alot better with FS... |

I am soo sorry.
The problem with final scratch is that it needs a lot of processing power.
I mean way too much.
I have recently invested in a powermac dual 2ghz with 3 gb adittional ram and It still
has its ups when using it at low latency.
That is in stupid considering the fact that laptops are not that fast.
I spent two days trying to calibrate it, only when I uptated the version of my osx
it started running.
Having said that I personaly havent had problems beatmatching with the thing.
If you are sure its not your decks, try changing your timecode records and using it at a higher latency.
If you are using it a its minimum requierments expect lots of problems.
I would sell that and go for ssl if thats the case. |
