I have been there once, but beyond that my parents aren't cool with me going. To tell you the truth (and I don't want to sound like a wuss) I don't really feel comfortable going there by myself and driving home at 2:00 AM and walking to my car by myself in Detroit that late. I don't know how other people feel...but to me that isn't safe. So I can kind of sympathize with my parent's worrying about me being out there alone...even though I really want to see many of my favorite DJs there... |
Yeha, Detroit can be a scary place man... Some of the MW TA's had a REAL interesting cab ride for DEMF this year... but if you're careful man, Bleu is a real fun place... You should try to make it out and introduce yourself at Glaude/Feelgood, it's the next time I"ll be making it to Detroit...
But also, if you can make it, Ferry is going to kill that place tomorrow :happy2: |

| I party with a big crew of people. We've been all together now for over 4 years. We adopted a name for ourselves, the RBC crew. If you think about it hard enough, you can probably figure out what those letters stand for (drug related). We are all getting older now and a lot of original friends in the crew are long gone. I feel priviledged to have found them all. Memories that will last a lifetime... |

i hear ya. i go out in Chicago way more than i go out in Milwaukee, and it's a 1.5 hour drive from where i live. i used to go down by myself quite often and there were times that i was a little sketched out about driving by myself and walking to my car at 5am by myself (especially because i'm a weak little female and i wouldn't be able to defend myself against scary rapists hiding out in the parking garage)... but that was back before i met a lot of TAs. now i'm pretty much guaranteed to have people to drive down with and hang out with.
it's super awesome to have TAs to protect me (inside AND outside the club) when my boyfriend doesn't come along. |

kinda the same here, it's not like i dont want to go alone but i dont have my driving licence yet and my parents are like yours, they'd be worried for me if i was going alone, not only for my security but they'd think "oh he has no friend :nervous: ".. not that i care much but i understand them in a way, i ain't no badass looking at all :D
things will be different once i'll quit living at my parents' i hope :o |

i think the 2 of u are selling yourselves short by being with women who aren't on the same music/party page as you.
U two are “double-lifers” aren’t u?
:stongue: |
haha, double lifer. nice term. was one of those for a while, until my 'public life' seemed to die off and was left with my evil nocturnal identity. it can be a bit rewarding, but most of the time, it just sucks. like this guy who is the boyfriend of a chick from my class. she's super preppy, uptight and whatnot. and he hooks up with my group to smoke up, party. if only she knew, haha. he however, is constrained to her limits when he's with her, so it sucks for ihm. and he rarely gets to have fun, as 'going to clubs' alone, when you have a GF is not very plausible, but, taking your GF to a place where all your druggie buddies will be is not either. |

you would'nt know it was me, if you were standing next to me. People think I'm some monster but not many could tell it was me, even if I stood next to you. NEXXXTTTT!!!!!!! |

Wish I could make it to Ferry, its the third time i've missed him since I turned 18. Sucks...I know but its kind of too late now...I work on Thursday...and may be working later if they need me (which means I might be working till 9:30) so forget that...and I work the next day so don't look forward to me being there. I would have had to press my parents months ago, as I have done before, and it was unsuccessful. I know what someone might say...just go...well as I am still living with my parents (prolly for another two years), I wouldn't want to do something that makes them loose my trust...ya know? I am just hoping I can meet up with some TAs in my area and go to these events, so I don't continue missing out on all the fun! |

Nothing wrong with that dude. Did it for G&D earlier this year, and I'd do it again any time it was a show I wanted to see and no one else could make... |
Yep, exactly. I won't miss a good show just because no one wants to go with me.

| I don't know anyone in person who remotely likes trance. Most of them don't even know what trance is. That's part of the reason why I don't go to clubs/parties. I'm not a big party person anyways. I just like the music. |

Yeah Aquarian I can kind of sympathize. I don't know hardly anyone who likes Trance around here, most people listen to hip hop, pop and rock. I am not a huge party person, and I feel more like partying when I have a reason, and usually its then there is people around I know, it just feels more comfortable. I'm kinda of shy, but very talkative and friendly once you get to know me. When I think of party music, I don't think of trance as being party music. I think of Trance as being more like "taking people on a journey" type of music, after all it wouldn't be called "Trance" for no reason. |
