Hi ppl
eny1 might be kind enough to enlighten me on how to achieve the top volumeof the mix without distorting the sound and keeping the mix clear:conf:

The basic answer is limitng, but please, don't go beyond +4dBu on a -14 (EBU) dB FS calibrated VU meter. Use a limiter plugin such as the Waves L3 to limit the peaks and bring the level up.
Really, you want to look into doing a proper mastering job if you're looking to attain a respectable maximum volume though, which generally involves a combination of equalising, stereo imaging, compression and limiting. If you're not willing to do all that, then simply don't maximise the volume and just work on creating a good mixdown. :) |
