| okay. so my 18th birthday is on monday. every year, my family goes to arkansas the weekend of the 4th of july to my aunt and uncle's lakehouse. to make up for being out of town on my birthday, they let me bring my best friend. well, everything was all set and ready for us to leave tomorrow, but jessica calls me and is like "you're going to hate me. i have to work friday AND tuesday. i can't go" yipee. okay, fine. belated birthday celebration is better than nothing, right? plus, my brother and his fiancé and my cousin will be there, maybe we can go do something. i mean...it's my 18th birthday, i really don't wanna just sit around with family. i love my family and all, but 18 is special. THEN i find out...that my crazy grandparents are going to be there. that means...no drinking (last year my mom, aunt, brother's fiancé and best friend and i all played drinking games together :() no expressing liberal political/religious opinions, no staying up late watching movies (they can't climb stairs so they're sleeping on the couch by the TV...and the decapitation of the entire mood for the trip. my grandparents...especially my grandma...are INSANE. my grandma likes to start drama and make my mom and my aunt cry...i just don't want to deal with it. so not only do i get to spend my 18th birthday without ANY of my friends...i get to be surrounded by my senile relatives. happy birthday to me :( |

| ur a big girl now...can't u express this to your mom? just ask her if u can hang back this time as a birthday present. just act really bummed about ur friend and tell ur mom that some of ur friends are throwing some huge bbq/party at someone's house and u really dont wanna miss it. |

i don't wanna make a big deal out of it and ruin everyone's trip. my aunt has planned a dinner and everything...they're all expecting me to be there. sulking will only piss my parents off...i mean i can celebrate when i get back i'm just pissed now lol.
