People like the independence of being able to drive wherever they want. They dont think about how much of a pain gas, insurance, and parking are. Ohio has been trying to build a Cleveland to Cincinatti (via COlumbus) railway for ages with potential offshoots to places like Toledo, Akron, and Dayton for almost 10 years, but no one wants to pay for it.

Obviously. :p

I like them too, but more the experience of riding on them. Ive nnever ridden a train (larger than a subway) in America, but Ive ridden several in Argentina (a pretty large country in it's own right) and Bolivia. There's nothing quite like traversing the countryside on a quiet, efificient train; nor a clanking iron beast either.

Out of curiosity, are you an engineer?

Could you build an engine or locomotion device?

I wanted to bump this thread in the hopes of discussing the lyrics for this song.

For me, the title of this song really fits well with the lyrics, and the motif of journey. The idea of leaving on a train also suggests that htis person is also starting something new.

This journey, this leaving of someone, must be a comittment: "This train will make no stops before reaching it's final destination." The fact that "all seats on this train are reserved" also suggests that planning for this train ride is in order, and that one realizes that once youre on the train, you cant come back. Once you reach your destination, you may return in a different train, but boarding T-Alpha Two-Four at track number four only goes one way.

Basically, this song speaks to me because I'm at a point in my life where I can attach such a meaning with the help provided with the musical tone and the lyrics provided. Is anyone else at a similar time?

Thats because all seats are reserved and alot of people are content where they are and don't want to leave. Some people cant afford to leave, and others changed their mind and didn't show up to board the train.

But yes, I imagine Im giving more meaning to the words then the OAs intended.

And Nou, with all your myspace rantings, I can't believe you have a Xanga...
