| I'm going to Pittsburgh to visit a friend (lost a bet, have to go). I've been checking for transportation back to NYC and was wondering if anyone has experiences with public transportation from Pittsburgh to NYC? The fligths seem fairly expensive, and amtrak apparently only has departures before 8 am in the morning (I'm probably hammered the night before leaving so this is not an option). Surely there's got to be something better? |

| LOL.....um your going this weekend? I feel bad for you man. Look at it this way....you going to be stuck on a bus for a good 12 hours (just ask bitchboy how bad that sucks) or your going to pay alot of money for a flight. If it was up to me....I wouldn't go at all.;) |

^^^ This was the kind of answer I was hoping not to get.:(
Oh well, I'll probably go for the expensive flight - I don't think I can stand fighting satanists and loudmouths for a cramped seat on a bus. (It's the first weekend of August btw.)
But Pittsburgh isn't that bad, right? There's, like, enough to do for three days there? Right? Right? Oh God, three days! I can get through three days, God? Can't I?:nervous:
@Daniela: It's not polite to laugh at other people's misery.
But thanks for the mobissimo link - it seems to cover more flights than kayak.com, which I've used so far.:) |

And ill show you all the hot spots (very hard to find in Pittsburgh;) ) where you can get a drink and listen to good tunes. My friends actually run a bar in south side and they spin house music all nigt long....it's a great time.:toothless Im sorry you didn't like my response. I totally thought you were going this weekend and Pittsburgh would be the last place on earth I would want to spend 4th of July weekend. So I hope this response serves you better.;) |

I'll be going from the 3rd to the 6th, but I'm coming from Washington DC, so I cannot ride with you. But thank you very much for the offer. What's the name of the house club? My friend's roommate has listed some electronica events that we'll go see. Unfortunately he also mentioned the words "drum'n'bass", so I'm putting my faith in a serious alcohol supply. Are there any excellent sights to see - so I could play tourist for a while?

It's called Zythos. It's deff not a club though....just a little lounge with good music and chill people. The upstairs has a bigger room and sometimes they have the more popular local DJs plying up there.....more room to dance. But other than that all your going to find is drum & bass partys in Pittsburgh (puke!!!) And if you going to eat at Primanti Brothers, don't forget to take the pepto...that food is only good when your totally faced at 2:30am when the bars close. If you want good meal check out Mortons Steakhouse (Mortons ) but be prepaired to drop $50 on a meal. Also don't forget to check out Mt. Washington at night.....simply one of the best city skyline views there is. There are also awesome places to eat on Mt. Washington like the Grandview Saloon and the LeMont. Another chill place to check out is Sing Sing....it's a dual piano bar in the Waterfront....really good time!!! There is also the Dejavu Lounge and Lava Lounge in the strip district.
