Hi,

well first off my brain is a little scrambled ive been reading too many posts on way too many topics. I'm looking for a little direction, I currently have 2xNumark ttx1's and a Numark PPD01 mixer which i bought of a friend of a friend a WHILE ago (probably when i registered this account) and i havent really used them much (lots of reasons, none of them good) anyway id like to "get back into it" tho i didnt get much further than buying vinyl (which i enjoyed and still do enjoy) im very much a newb when it comes to most things relating to being a DJ soooo i have a few questions that i thought some of you with more know how could help me out with.

the decks i dont want to change (i see no reason too:; technics, numark its pretty much the same when you cant do bugger all)

the mixer - i believe its a scratch mixer ?!

Headphones - i had Numark Hf-150's one of them died so i would like a new pair.

Cart/Stylus - Stanton Itacks - theres sooo much variety !

Umm the type of music that i'd like to play (mix/abuse whatever..) i like trance / hard Trance / house(hard n' what not) so you get a vague idea, a couple tracks id like to buy when i get paid (which annoyingly is on the 15th !!) are (all new releases on Juno.co.uk)

Tomas Andersson - Washing Up (Tiga remix) (Once Juno has it back in stock - Ive missed it twice now !!!)

KLUBBINGMAN feat TRIXI DELGADO Revolution (We Call It) (Klubbstylerz remix)

liquid Spill - Chase The Light (Empyre One remix)

SMF Taste my Pain (Part IV)

so im basicly looking for some advise on whether its worth me getting a new mixer, i need some decent headphones, which stylus' / carts should i get for future use. I intend on putting it all through my Computer (which isnt the best option but space isnt in abundance) so i'll be using PC speakers !! unless it is HIGHLY recomended that i get seperate ones (which im guessing it will be) the speakers that im looking at are the Creative Giga works http://www.creative.com/products/pr...13&product=9306
im aiming at pc speakers as they will have 3 uses (My pc, Decks and Theatre system) - i currently have Creative Cambridge sound works speakers which are pretty good.

the first thing i intend to get is the headphones ---> speakers.

well thanks for reading it and i appreciate any advice that you can give.

to make it more "on topic" to the forum ... im trying to desing a desk for my decks/record storage could anyone recommend a half good easy to use 3d design program to make it it (ive pretty much "drawn" how i want it to be - dimensions etc)

whats your budget like for this?

and what kind of equipment do you have?(be more specific)
Esion
The Decks / Mixer etc i bought last year (partial Bday present)

budget wise ... im a begginer so i want the right equip but im not willing to commit a huge chunck of cash.

my current setup consists of :

2 x Numark TTX1's (with Stanton Itrack Cart/stylus)
Numark PPD01 Mixer
a half broken pair of numark headphones

My PC is :

P43.2 (LGA775)
Asus P5GD1
1gig DC ddr400
various hard drives.

thats about it.

It looks like you have a pretty good set up right now. I would buy some headphones (I recommend Sony 7506s) and keep buying records. It probably wouldn't hurt to get some monitors. I just have some old 8" Yamaha speakers hooked up to my old Sony receiver and it works fine for me. If you have some cash, buying real monitors would be a good idea. If your carts aren't skipping I would hang on to them. If you don't like them then get some ortofons or whitelabels or m44gs or whatever. Your mixer isn't bad. I would hang on to it until you get better at mixing and know what you really want in a mixer. Keep buying vinyl.

my 2 cents, hope it helps
