Wow.
With all the drama/rumours that went on the week prior, i was expecting the crowd size to suffer slightly. By midnight i was proven completely wrong. Nice sized crowd, and one thing i noticed right off the bat was there was no standing around. Everyone who came out to this event was there for two things - the music, and to dance their asses off.
Linzee started things off nicely, with a bumpy and really vocal house set. Crowd was really feeling her set, and she set the stage for Hatiras to do his thing. He came on, and i dont know if it was me or what - but his set was ing LOUD! Wowzers. He really pushed the system to the max. His set was very upbeat, and hard - he had the whole room moving from start to finish.
Prior to Dan taking the decks, i had a chance to chat with him in the booth before he went on. You could tell he was VERY excited to play Boa's system, and his set was completely bonkers. Playing a lot of old goodies, mixed with new sounds - ranging from tech house, to electro house. Really blew me away with this set. I didnt know what to expect as i hadnt seen him since 2002 - and i'll definately check him out the next time he's in town.
Overall a really great night, and the vibe all around felt like old times. For those who think Boa is on its way out, should think again. If we have more nights like this one - this club aint goin anywhere anytime soon.
See you all tonight ;) |
