Tight I cant wait to see him tonight. I'll post my review along with all the others that are going to Independance! All we get is 1 1/2 hours though compared to probably like 4 @ Crowbar.

I have to make my report here. I think last night was absolutely HORRENDOUS!! It was unfiltered wall to wall noise. I've heard Picotto 3 times and this was absolutely the worst. I've liked him 2 times and was really feeling the thumping chest blasting techno. But last night it didn't seem like music, just continual noise. Plus, the vibe and crowd was wack. I really didn't see many people dancing although I don't know how you could have. Very disappointing, I really didn't have fun. Oh yeah, I thought the volume was WAY over the normal. I had to leave early because my ears couldn't take it anymore.

I feel violated having spent $30 last night.

Sorry if people loved it, I just didn't get it!!

I thought Mauro played quite a good set - certainly much better than the one he played at Avalon some months ago. At 5 AM something went wrong, though. After coming back from the restroom, two of his records skipped, and the dancefloor was already thinning at that point, so it seemed like he panicked, and threw on track after track in rapid succession, not allowing any single track to complete before it was succeeded by a new one. But my feet were feeling extremely bad at that point, so it didn't really matter that much to me, and I left. Before this happened, though, he was riding the crowd firmly, with Pulsar and Lizard sneaking in to make me very happy.
Vigorito played ok, but I had expected him to play techno, and was a bit taken aback by something a lot softer. I guess he might have been asked to tone it down a bit, seeing as this was a warm up, and that Picotto himself is playing rather soft these days.:conf:

I agree with Member of X that the crowd sucked bad. Don't know if it was because it was an 18+ event, but there was definitely too many guys there, and quite a few of them being pushy. Anyway, I found myself a nice corner of the dancefloor where the only consistent nuisance was a really sweaty guy that accidentally kept bumping into people.:p

Oh yeah, and a really nice surprise was that it was a free event on Bradley Rose's guestlist. Of course I managed to spend a lot of money after all, but I probably couldn't have afforded the last bottles of water if there had been a cover.:) On the negative side, the bartenders once again got to me. Don't know what their problem is, but some of them really act as if the customers are there to please them, rather than the other way around.

I'm never going back to Avalon. No matter how bad a night would be somewhere else, I'd prefer that to being slowly cooked in a dense crowd of psychos.

In my opinion, if it isnt Trance/House/Progressive You will not have a big crowd. Especially if it isnt people like Sasha/Digweed/Armin/PvD/Tiesto/Ferry on the decks.

We were gonna come but got there too late and the list was shut down. They wanted $40/head to get in and I actually handed the cashier $80 to pay for myself and Joey but them decided it was way to much to pay for a few hours of Picotto and I took my cash back and left.lol Went to Spirit for Danny T and got in on reduced for $30 and got my ass handed to me......Danny ing ripped it!!! First time seeing him....deff not the last.
