LCD monitor

| I recently put together a new computer and I got my first LCD monitor. I'm a little disappointed with the way it displays text (jagged). The manual recommended setting it to the highest resolution and turning on window's ClearType. This helped smooth the text but it isn't as nice as a CRT. Did I get a bum monitor or is that what to be expected from an LCD? I never experienced with laptop screens so whats up? |

native resolution - set windows desktop to that, and it should be clear. press the 'auto' button as well.
It should anti-aliase itself to cope with displaying resolutions lower than the native one though. |

I have it set to the native resolution which is also the highest resolution 1280 x 1024 and hit the auto button. Without ClearType turned on it looks horrible. I was trying to make sure if what I'm seeing is normal so I don't return the monitor if thats the way it supposed to display. With my current settings the text is pretty smooth but still not as nice as a CRT. |
