John '00 Fleming Severely Injured in Boating Accident

28 Jun 2005

International DJ John '00 Fleming is recovering in hospital after a boating accident at the weekend nearly cost him his life.

John was enjoying the hot weather with friends down near Brighton UK at the weekend when he came off the back of an inflatable doughnut and subsequently got hit by the boat that was towing him. Fortunately he survived with a collapsed lung, four broken ribs and a deep gash to his arm.

Often this type of accident can prove fatal but John was luckily wearing a life jacket which took the brunt of the propeller. Without it the blades would have sliced through his chest.

John will be released from hospital in the next few days and is expected to make a full recovery within the next 3 to 4 weeks.

In the meantime all gigs have been cancelled until 22nd July on medical instruction.

John send his apologies to all his fans who were expecting to see him particularly in Brazil and Ibiza and he hopes he can make it up to them in the future.

All being well he should be able to honour all gigs from July 22nd onwards.

****Update from John Fleming****

Many thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes regarding my accident. There was too many to reply back too so I figured this is the best way to to say thanks to everyone.

I知 back at home and feeling much better. Everything is healing well but I知 still in a lot of pain so have been instructed to rest. I知 very lucky to be here and try not to think back of what could have happened, I have to be forward thinking. As many people keep saying, I have nine lives....I知 currently now on number 3 but don稚 wish to go through any more experiences like this??!

I often visit people in hospital that have been diagnosed with cancer to offer my advice and positive energy, so I知 aware that there are many people worse off in this World. This makes me feel guilty for all the best wishes and attention that everyone has given me with this accident. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, you all have lifted my spirits, it truly blew me away knowing how much people care.

I must rest for the next two weeks in order for my body to repair itself, especially my lung. I have to apologise to everyone who I have let down over the past week, I値l try and catch up with everything next week. I must concentrate on getting myself back on feet, I still have some way to go, but being at home makes me feel so much better.

Again, thank you all for all the mind-blowing support. This has given me so much energy.

I can稚 wait to get behind those decks again (Ironically my first gig will be Wakestock??!)

Much love

John
