cdj 800s or final scratch

im gonna get my first dj setup and am looking at getting cd decks or final scratch...or even ssl...

problem is im on a budget...the cdj 800s have only 0.05% pitch increments, cant afford the 1000s and dont like the 200s.
ive also heard some issues regarding latency with final scratch or ssl.

so my question is, which of these would get you the best accuracy for beatmatching?

thanks
Basstard
well if beat matchin is ur main concern then latency shouldnt even be an issue with ya.

the latency is not noticable when FS or SSL is configured properly anyway.

from my own experience the accuracy of the pitch with SSL will depend greatly on ur own turntables

i dont have a nice laptop
i forgot to mention, i would be getting a set of technics 1210s specifically for fs or ssl.

my main concern is that the 0.05% pitch increments aren't accurate enough on the cdj 800s..

And even if it does drift, corrections are a piece o' cake.

It's all about knowing how to use your equipment.. I have CD decks with .1% pitch and I can mix perfectly. I know it's hard to believe but practice can take you a long way :)

you mention you're on a buget, so getting ssl, 2xtt (tech 1200) plus a good enough laptop will be pretty expensive don't you think?

it depends on what you like to mix with, the cdj's are awesome, (my opinion), yes i've noticed they don't keep in synk for very long (compared to tt) but with practice i've manage to keep song in synk for longer than a minute...

If you go with SSL or FS2 you will be able to spin VINYL and digital files. Is there a reason you want to start off on CDJs or FS instead of going the traditional way?

FS is and I am speaking from experience.

I've seen you express your disgust at FS in a couple of other threads, mind telling me what kind of problems you had with it?
I could use FS 1.5 (dont have firewire), which along with a set of technics (second hand) would be cheaper than a second set of cdj-800s

wouldn't buying a pair of techs along with SSL be just as expensive as getting two cdj-1000's??

i was seriously thinking about selling my decks and getting cdj's instead. why? they're more compact, digital downloads are starting to become the norm, you can rip all of your vinyl to cd, downloaded singles are cheaper, vinyl is expensive, cdj's are commonly used... there's tons of reasons to get cd decks. don't let the tech12 elitists fool you, especially when the 800's and 1000's have the platter..

if you were to get SSL.. think about what you'd have to lug with you to a gig. a laptop, the ssl interface, both your decks, your mixer, probably some records to mix it up a bit... that's a lot of . if you get cdj's, you bring your cdjs and your mixer. and a cd case.
