flashback: feb 2001 - still a pvd virgin...but was going to try to remedy that.

i was gonna go to pvd at twilo the night before he played in toronto at kool haus. it was was a last minute decision, and i got to nyc at 3:30am. There was still a line all the way around the block! it would have been a good 2-3 hour wait. we decided to go to another club because i was going to go to toronto the next night to see pvd. (i hadn't seen him yet, i didn't know that waiting 2-3 hours for the end of his set even if it was just 1/2 hour was worth it)

drive back to rochester the next day, stop at the ATM. my paycheck i deposited on friday had not cleared! i didn't have any money. couldn't get any money, and therefore did not make it up to see pvd.

still a pvd virgin...

finally got to see pvd 4/13/01 at twilo...what a night, what a memory. turned out to be pvd's last gig ever at twilo. i stood on the dancefloor dancing in the same spot for 5 hours straight. i was done.

end of story.

10/10/01 great great night...i still remember everything so vividly.

PvD MUST COME BACK TO TORONTO!!!

if i get the chance this month, i will tell him so. ;)

Even though party at Roxy on Nov 1st wasn't the best, the set that PVD blessed us with that night - is the best live set I've ever heard in my life !

LOL. you guys misunderstood me.
I never said the party was bad. I have absolutely no complaints either. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! StereoPrincess can definitely confirm this :D It's just that this party had the potential to be so much better, if that makes sense...

It could have been better if I would be able to see PvD better and if there was more room. But hey, nothing can be perfect.

compared to the other times that PvD spun in NYC after the existence of twilo (sound factory, exit) roxy was a good venue. it was crowded, but there was still room. i DID NOT feel like a sardine. the girl's bathroom situation sucked, but i can overlook that.

but i thought that the party sucked. for being nyc, you would think the club owners/promoters could throw a good party. i have not attended a good party in nyc in so long. guess the best i've been to is mauro at arc back in october. maybe i'm just soured to the ny scene, i dunno, but i find the parties in toronto to be much much better.
