What the hell did I do?

On my mom's laptop I have managed to move the taskbar to the top of the screen. Don't ask me how, because I don't know. All I know is that I want it back at the BOTTOM where it doesn't look ridiculous.

Does anyone know how to fix this??? The operating system for this computer is Windows 2000 keep in mind.

I'll buy whoever tells me how to fix this a drink next time I see them. I'm beyond frustrated trying to fix it myself.

It's just another drag and drop type deal. I'm running XP but I'm pretty sure it's been this way since 95. Just click on an empty part of your taskbar (like a part that doesn't have a program button or shortcut) and drag it back to the bottom.

Hope that works hehe.

Tried that soooooooooooo many times. It just makes the top bigger. :(

Looooooooool:haha:

Sorry didn't mean to laugh so hard but ummm yea try this. Right click on the task bar and untic where it says Lock The Taskbar.
After that all you have to do is just simply drag the task bar onto the bottom. Make sure your mouse is on an empty part of the task bar itself and not where you see the up & down arrow thingy.

Guh! Yeah I forgot it was locked by default >.<

What he said ^^ :)

haha by all means LAUGH - this is the most ridiculous problem I've had with a computer EVER.

However, the problem is that being this is Windows 2000 - the 'unlock taskbar' option is not one of the options when you right-click anywhere in the taskbar - nope, not even in the properties menu.

So wait, even if you go to Control Panel > Taskbar and Start Menu (or something like that).. there isn't an option that lets you lock/unlock it? It's been a REALLY long time since I've even looked at 2000 so I'm having a hard time remembering, but I do remember xp being very very similar to it menu-wise.

Holy Crap....damn you Bill Gates :whip: :whip: :whip:

I am not sure what else to tell you except, if the taskbar can go up it can sure the hell come down too. How ? i don't know. Maybe i can take a look via Remote Assisstance?

Hmm okay last attempt. I just googled the hell out of this and there's one article that says to "Click and hold on the time/date portion of the taskbar and it will automatically move to the top/bottom". This doesn't work for me in XP but it may be what you did in 2000.
And that's the last thing I can think of.

Good luck. Hehe. :D

try doing it in 2 steps.. drag an empty part of the taskbar to either the right or left side - then from there drag it to the bottom
