| my cousin has a sword that his grandpa took off a japanese soldier in WWII. that thing is f'n heavy. |

too lazy and drunk to post pics...but I have three swords.
1.) The Highlander Katana, replica from the movie. White faux ivory dragon handle.
2.) Replica of a Confederate cavalry sword.
3.) Full tang no frills katana, for practicing.
Admittedly haven't practiced in a couple months...but I had some informal sword training.
It's always fun to go into the backyard and practice and freak out the neighbors :) |

Your katanas are upside down n00b. :P The blades should always be pointed up, towards the sky.
I don't own a sword yet but I have plans to once I am confident I wouldn't chip the blade on my first cut.
For now I practice my technique on these:
A wooden bokken for solo drills:
A bamboo shinai against my training partner:

Its been handed to me from my great great great great great grandfather, it is my duty to keep it safe for my next generation, this wepaon is classified as one of the DEADLIEST weapon in the world, it is VERY sharp i can cut a brike to half with a touch. It is one of the heaviest, I need to use my two hand to hold this wepaon. and even posting the picture of it is illigal...but I couldnt resist. so here it goes:
