[melodic breaks] Kindred Spirits - Sugar Mountain
View this Thread in Original format

hey all

finally there is a new Kindred Spirits. a bit more proggy this time, but still melodic..

this version right here is the 'fingerpaint mix'.. the reason why it's called like that is simply because it borrows some elements from Digital Witchcraft - Fingerpaint, hehe :o but the whole track is based upon the original Sugar Mountain, so it does not qualify as a Fingerpaint remix.

*link removed* - label interest

hope you guys enjoy :)

Hey mate, very nice tune you have here, after streaming it I think I will have to download it. Piano melody is very dreamy. Excellent stuff mate - nice beat and the bass is great. My ears like this a lot :D

Nice tune there! :) what did you use for the drums?

like your hats, gotta heavy sound to 'em

don't like that drum pattern where your snare/clap hits twice (on 4th and 4.5th beat)

piano fits in well, and i love that plucked melody in the background... very soothing

keep it up man, you should put in some ambient vox samples into this, would make the piece perfect

I disliked some of the perc elements, was so raw sounding in a way and was clashing with the lush atmosphereic sounds.

I disliked the fingerpaint melody and sound, here also, i think it just didn't fit the tune and gave it a weird twist.

Any other version?

there is an original mix, with a 4/4 kick pattern and some vox samples + arabian sounds.

i can't post it though, as a digital label is showing interest in our track. i've had to remove the Fingerpaint version as well.

@ substorm: the drums were done entirely in Reason.. most sounds come from refills, albeit heavily tweaked.
