This is what boredom and an active bird table do to you.
Ingedients:
1x robin
1x handful of oats
60x photos
ample patience
Ok so theres a robin outside feeding a baby. Its a very friendly robin, and since I'm still unemployed with nothing to do, I decided to try and tame it.
Robins love oats, and he'll eat them out of my hand now, as long as my hand is on the ground. The next step is to try and get him to eat them when I'm standing up. There'll be pictures of that soon too, if I can do it.
Of course the camera was there to help, and in an arrangement that made me look like a giant knot, I managed to get some highspeed shots of him eating.
From now on though, I'm watermarking these pictures. I dont really want anyone nicking them. But I know you lot wouldnt do that anyway :)
The raw ingredients - hand on the patio, full of oats.

Investigating ->

Almost.... ->

Finally ->

These will get better soon as the robin gets tamer. |

| You can never be too careful these days. You should probably put watermarks all over that picture to discourage all of us who were about to ... I don't know why you are doing that, really. |

Cool. :)
I stayed in a cabin in the rockies once with a hummingbird feeder. You can put your finger underneath where they stand on the feeder, and have humminbirds stand on your finger. :happy2: They have amazingly small, brittle, little feet - each foot looks like a single grain of black rice, splayed 4 ways. Was very cool. :cool: |
