Stupid question

being a NOOOOOOB and all...this is probably in the wrong forum...

Tiesto has this really annoying habit in his tracks and mixes of taking all the beats and loops....and combines them all into one loud NOISE (like in traffic). Like he enhances the reverb 100% for every sound...and its just one loud noise. Apparently he does it as an attempt to "hype" the song up.

I dont know what the technique is called since im just a fan and not a dj...but ive only heard tijs do it.

First of all.....WHY....

Secondly...what purpose does it serve?

Thirdly...what do you think of it?

he doesnt combine them...

he takes the main lead synth *dun dun dun da dun*

then basically its the track...(nothing he does on stage unless he samples a loop through the mixer.) But he records a seperate melody of that synth and puts a long *release* on it and reverb. The release is how long the notes are, he probably has a long sustain on them too...

So its not enchancing the reverb live for every drum and beat. its more so already built in the track but the synth jsut has a really long release on it.

this shoudl be in production ;)

edit: idk if it serves any purpose maybe just to put a bit more "umphf" into the track, lots of artists do this. Listen to Mark Norman and their track Overkill.

I like it, its kind of a nice build up then you bring it all down with the percussion.
