Hi,
I am relatively new to the house/trance scene, but crazy about it! In a few weeks, Sasha (who was voted 2nd best dj in the world..) will spin in Holland, together with Sander Kleineberg and a few others. Can anyone tell me if his (Sasha's) sets are good, if he can get the crowd crazy, what kind of music he plays (maybe you can compare it to some other dj's). That sort of thing?
thanx a lot! |

| sasha is a kickin' dj. he spins progressive/prog trance/etc. his style is very unique, his sets are really good. his stuff is beyond description. :D why don't you listen to some of em before you go to judge for yourself? just search for sasha live on ag or something. you'll bound to find something. |

If u want to know the sounds try these:
Sasha - xpander
Sasha and Darren emmerson - sorchio (Sander K remix)
Not all of sasha's stuff sounds like Xpander...in fact this is the only track that ive come across that has a lot of trance elements in it :)
BTW enjoy...and definately go and check him out...hes flawless :)

sasha is an amazing dj. i just saw him for the first time a month ago and it was one of the best shows i've ever been to. if you don't like progressive house/progressive trance, then it may not be the show for you but i would highly recommend you to check it out. sasha's mixes are seamless and he has this knack for putting you in a groove and not letting you out of it. truly worthwhile. i've not heard sander k live yet but he has some good tracks like my lexicon and sacred. enjoy the show.

I say feel free to flame but have yer reasons to back it up. I've always wanted to know why you say you hate S&D anyway...I feel they're both amazing DJs and producers and although I hear they can be s to people, they're music still kicks ass. |

"although I hear they can be s to people"
Everyone has a bad day every once in a while.
Btw: If you can, go! Its worth it...just to say you've gone. His CD's and recorded sets are nothing, NOTHING compared to The Man Like in person. |

sasha's spun everything since beginning his dj career.. his big thing was piano house in the early 90s, then got really trancy
(most TAs dont know the half of it! a lot of the tracks you think tiesto is spinning for the first time, him and oakie spun in 96-99)
and is solidly in progressive house now..
i haven't heard anything remotely progressi-vey trance since GU ibiza
but his essential mixes are a great example of his work.:D |

Sasha is a god when it comes to melodies....Both as a producer and DJ. Take a listen to his productions from way back...like Arkham Asylum, Ohmna, Xpander (With Charlie May)....just to name a few. Not to mention his remix of BT - Embracing the Sunshine" that got him the remixer of the year in 199??, as well as Madonna, Chemical Brothers, Orbital...
A pity that I've not gotten the chance to see him live just yet... :(
Highly recommended DJ to catch! |

There simply is no better techincal DJ. Consider yourself lucky if you ever have the chance to see him live. I have seen him a couple times now, and he perfectly personifies all that 'Techno' as a genre is. He's been around for it all, and it shows. GO SEE HIM!!!!!!!!!!
