i found this rather interesting BoC page while browsing google.

http://www.speakeasy.org/~adbrown/boc.html

great reading, i like the mystique and history involved..
this is perhaps not to be taken too seriously though, as BoC themselves said in an interview: "We're not Satanists, or Christians, or Pagans. We're not religious at all. We just put symbols into our music sometimes, depending on what we're interested in at the time. We do care about people and the state of the world, and if we're spiritual at all it's purely in the sense of caring about art and inspiring people with ideas."

I have some of their albums and EPs so it was very interesting to read all that. The feedback take partly even deeper look into the releases than the page itself. Some of the references in their tracks seem to be highly disturbing even (or done by a disturbed mind  ) or simply just weird. But all'n'all subliminal messages and other hidden stuff has been used in music for ages so that's not a news but they've done a brilliant job of hiding so much details and mysterious info in their works.

Interesting.

Don't think I 'll listen to Boards of Canada ever again.

:nervous:

which albums/EPs do you have?

i've got music has the right to children, geogaddi and twoism (the 2002 re-release, that probably goes without saying, seeing it as how rare the original press is. i think 100 copies were made..?)

i've seen some old BoC stuff getting sold for astronomical sums. check their early discogs; just a handful of people have these tapes, which are on the wantlist for hundreds of people

I have Music Has The Right To Children, Geogaddi, BoC Maxima, Twoism EP (rerelease) and In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country EP.

Yeah, the old BoC releases are in very high demand these days. I so want the releases i'm missing but won't pay astronomical prices anyway.. i can live without them.

new interview with boc here -> http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/inter...s-of-canada-05/

Quite a revealing interview, for example they confirm what many suspected, that they are brothers. Interview also contains some talk about their new album and such.
