Why is it that most people, djs and clubbers, are so obsessed with hearing new tracks all the time? If a DJ plays something old, people start throwing hissy fits. Now, obviously, there's a line to be drawn. When Ferry drops Punk this weekend (Who thinks he won't?), that's dumb. He's never even stopped playing it. For 3+ years he's been playing that. That's silly. However... if Ferry were to drop, say... Dance Valley Theme 2001, I would go bonkers. More DJs should play tunes like that. Not the overplayed old like Gouryella... and Xpander... and stuff you still see on "Trance vol 32: mixed by Louie Devito." Stuff like Flutlicht - Icarus... If I heard that in a club, mannnnnn... I just don't get it. Oh well... I think this is the first thread I've started on TA in over 2 years.

lol, Icarus is kind if a gay song. But on topic, I know what you mean. I kind of disagree though. When these big DJs drop older more classic songs, everyone in the club goes nuts. The people who throw hissy fits about an older song being played are the bedroom djs or message board know-it-alls who go to clubs to jugde these big named guys.

I'd just die to hear Bedrock - The Forbidden Zone in a club...I dunno who would play it

I know what you mean, there are tons of tracks that I never got to hear in a club/didn't grow tired of (Trancesetters "The Search", CRW "I Feel Love", Dance 2 Trance "Power of American Natives" to name a few:)), that I would love to hear today. However, I think that us "veterans" constitute a very small fraction of todays clubgoing crowd. Last weekend when Picotto dropped Pulsar and Lizard at Crobar, I was exhilarated beyond belief, but couldn't help but notice that I was pretty much the only one in my part of the dance floor, and I would suspect that the situation would have been worse had he played a classic he didn't produce himself (say, Tiesto's "Sparkles"). So, if you are aspiring to be a big-name DJ, and want to draw big crowds, going with the new music seems to be the solid approach.

Agree wholeheartedly. I could never listen to ASOT because it's always just a bunch of recycled fluff. Just because it's new, a lot of people think it's awesome... I would die to hear Mercury & Solace in a club personally... if anyone can grant me this wish I will die happy ;)

Both of you clowns stfu. Who cares if Ferry plays PUNK....you know he is going to. Hopfully ill be taking a piss when it comes on because that track made me leave the main room at Space for WMC.:haha: :haha: :haha: The point is, we know the track is old and played out, we know he will prob play it....is it going to ruin the night? NO!!!

But yes, I agree with Sham......I wanna hear more classic "not so played out" tracks.:D

My point about Punk is that its an old classic track that is played out. Another Ferry production, like Dance Valley Theme, is an old classic that ISN'T played out. Dude should play that every once in a blue moon. That break would make the people who know the song and the people who don't go equally as nutty on the dance floor.
