Ok so heres the deal the acd adapter part of my laptop the place where u plug it in to recharge is broken on the laptop side not the adapter the pin fell out . My mom sadly bought an MDG and they say it cost 500 bucks to repair which i think is B.s do u think any comp place would have the piece or should i buy another comp

help!!

ouch.. the problem is they'd have to open the laptop to repair it.

how old is the laptop? DO NOT take it back to MDG, they are godawful..

if it's real old, buying a new one is probably the better course.. if it's pretty new, there are bound to be places to get it repaired..

IM me :)

hey hey...i had the same problem a month or so ago with my laptop. If its fairly new then take it back to the place you bought it from and they should be able to fix it. There is usually a 1 year warrenty on most laptops, sometimes they give you the option for the 3 year (bs if you ask me). They sent my laptop back to Toshiba and i got it fixed.

If its old, then as joinT said, buying a new one is a much better option.

$500 sounds like it's out of warranty.

MDG has to be the worst PC manufacturer I've ever seen.. I routinely find that cheap, weak, unreliable components are used throughout.

A buddy who'd done fixes for a small biz that used MDG said that every power supply in their desktops didn't even have soldered wiring.. WTF :whip:

its not hard to fix it....all u need is a soldering iron, a $.50 replacement piece and a screwdriver...

But their TV ads are SO COOL! JUST LOOK AT ALL THE SPINNY WAVEY THINGS!

... if the computer is more than 2 years old, it's going to be cheaper to buy an equivalent new one anyway.
