I just downloaded a file that is a "WinRAR archieve" and opens in winrar, but I get an error that says "The arhieve is either in unknown format or damaged" :(
Any way I can save it, or are there other programs besides winrar that can open it?
Oh, and I didn't want to post this in the help/FAQ forum coz those never get replies because noone checks threads there:p |

| if winrar cannot open it, other programs won't either. your archive is corrupted. redownload it. or maybe it's not a rar file alltogether, but rather a file with a changed extension. |

ditto.
i usually get that error when i download some file, and the bytes didn't get transferred properly. but that's rare though.
but if you do get it frequently, it could be your NIC/modem that's giving you problems downloading/uploading stuff ??? .. had this problem before ?? .. or maybe you need to tone down your internet speed .. |

| possibly a rollback inconsistency. when you pause downloading a file and resume, and it doesn't start back up exactly where it left off. |

| I'm on a 56k modem so I can't tone down my speed anymore. Hell, I was downloading at 3.2kbs, and it's a 100mb file, so I can't just redownload it. That would take 12+ hours:nervous: Plus it's off bittorent:wtf: |
